Notice: Declaration of Snow Emergency

From: Gregory A. Sacavage, Mayor
Borough of Kulpmont
Subject: Declaration of Snow Emergency

I am declaring a Snow Emergency in the Borough beginning at 6pm on Saturday and remaining in effect until noon on Monday. With the issuing of this declaration, parking on Chestnut Street will be suspended. Chestnut Street includes State Route 61 within its boundaries. Those failing to adhere to this order are subject to ticketing and towing. Also, in regard to all remaining streets, all residents are asked to park their vehicles as close to curbs as possible in order for plows to make the widest path possible for vehicle movement. Residents are also asked not to throw snow on the streets or place chairs or other items in parking areas. Finally on behalf of the Kulpmont Borough Council and employees, please stay safe and I encourage all to stay inside on Sunday and if you must go out, please exercise caution in your travels. Please call Borough Hall at 5703731521, if there are any questions or concerns.

Notice: Winter Storm

In case this weekend’s storm necessitates the need to declare a snow emergency for the Borough, please stay abreast of all notifications through our borough’s website, Facebook, The NewsItem and other public information platforms. If a Snow Emergency is declared, vehicles parked on Route 61 will have to be removed in order that PennDOT can plow both lanes of the State Highway from one end of Chestnut Street to the other. Also, residents are reminded on all other streets, please park as close to the curb as possible in order to
allow the Borough Plow apparatus to clear as wide lane as possible for adequate vehicle movement. Thank you all, stay warm, stay dry, stay safe.
